Foodpanda Issues Statement In Relation to COVID-19 Happenings

The COVID-19 virus sad to say is already here in the Philippines and we knew that Foodpanda was a hit in Lipa City in Batangas. In time with this ongoing scare, the known food delivery service emailed us a statement in relation to that.
We believe that most of their customers got the same message but in case you missed it, here is the message quoted:

Protecting your health is our top priority, and we're here to ensure that everyone in our panda family feels safe and supported. As the COVID-19 situation concerns all of us who live and work in the Philippines, we’ve gone the extra mile to introduce new measures that safeguard your health.

Here's an update on foodpanda's vital safety precautions at this time:

• At the slightest sign of illness, our employees and riders are advised to self-quarantine until any symptoms disappear. If for any reason someone at foodpanda visits a black list of travel destinations, they are immediately placed on 14 day quarantine.

• Our rider hubs train foodpanda delivery partners on all the best hygeine practices. We have in place mandatory temperature checks twice a day for employees, while our riders are reminded to do so regularly.

• We enforce sterilization of rider bags at the end of every shift. Riders are briefed to keep hand sanitizer on them throughout their shifts, and to wash their hands every two hours and after each time they handle food.

• We're in constant communication with our restaurant partners over the latest World Health Organization notices, advising them on the strictest health and safety practices that go beyond our already high food hygiene expectations.

• We also encourage you to switch to online payment. That way, we can keep unnecessary interactions to a minimum.

We understand how sensitive this topic is for you, and we're here to answer any of your questions. Just reach out to us on support@foodpanda.ph with any questions you might have.

We encourage you to be aware and updated. Here is a link to useful information from official channels that you can check DOH 2019-nCoV updates.

As of writing, Foodpanda is also available in Tanauan City and soon operating in Batangas City
